    In case of a rent agreement for a duration of more than one year, registration is compulsory.
    The notice period for eviction is governed either by the Rent Control Act or the state-specific Rent Control Act; depending on that, it ranges from 30 to 180 days. The precise notice period is ascertained according to the jurisdiction of the case.
    The tenant cannot sublet the rented property without the prior permission of the landlord. In order to sublet the premises, you may require the written consent of the landlord; otherwise, subletting without requisite permission can lead to eviction.
    The landlord is legally entitled to revise the rents; the revision rent may vary to a 5-10% increase per year in accordance with the laws of the state and the market prices.
